Terms of Service

Last Updated: October 28, 2025

1. Service Description

Permit Matching is owner-operated; we hold equity in the licensed LA County building firms (the partner firms) that perform the work. Our service connects homeowners in Los Angeles County directly with these CSLB-verified partner firms. Our service includes:

  • Identifying homeowners with active building permits through publicly available records
  • Conducting consultation calls to understand project requirements
  • Connecting homeowners directly with a CSLB-verified partner firm suited to the project
  • Introducing you directly to the builder, with no middleman

Important clarifications:

  • Construction work is performed by the partner firm under its own CSLB license and contract with you, not by Permit Matching as a separate entity
  • We do not guarantee project outcomes, timelines, or the partner firm's performance
  • The construction agreement, including scope, price, and schedule, is entered into directly between you and the partner firm

2. No Warranties or Guarantees

While our partner firms are CSLB-verified and self-perform their work, Permit Matching makes no warranties or guarantees regarding:

  • The quality, timeliness, or cost of work performed
  • The suitability of any particular partner firm for your specific project
  • Project completion dates or adherence to schedules
  • Pricing accuracy or project budget compliance
  • Compliance with building codes or permit requirements

Each partner firm operates under its own CSLB license. Your construction agreement, and any disputes arising from it, are between you and the partner firm.

3. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Permit Matching shall not be liable for:

  • Any damages arising from work performed or not performed by a partner firm
  • Delays, defects, errors, or omissions in construction projects
  • Financial losses, cost overruns, or budget issues related to your project
  • Disputes between homeowners and partner firms
  • A partner firm's negligence, breach of contract, or failure to perform
  • Property damage, personal injury, or any consequential damages arising from construction work

You acknowledge that each partner firm performs work under its own CSLB license and that you contract directly with the firm. Permit Matching's role is to connect you directly with the firm that builds your project.

4. How We Are Compensated

There is no fee to you for the introduction or consultation. You will never be charged for:

  • Being connected with a partner firm
  • Consultation calls
  • The introduction to the builder
  • Project guidance or support

You pay the partner firm fair market price for the work performed. We do not add a markup to that price. Because we co-own the partner firms, we earn our return as owners of the firms that build your project — not through any fee added to your cost.
